Acacia spoon knife

A beautiful acacia and pink ivory right-handed spoon knife, with a Wood Tools blade. 
 
The handcarved handle has octagonal facets and a slight banana shape. This conforms well to the hand and makes the knife particularly easy to control and comfortable during extended use. Acacia is a high quality, hard and durable wood, ensuring longevity in your tool roll.
 
The open curve blade from Wood Tools is an excellent high alloy steel: very hard and tough so it will hold an edge for a long time. Wood Tools is run by the brilliant Robin Wood, and they make wonderful blades. I have given it an extra hone on diamond lapping films to make sure it is razor sharp and ready for use. The open curve to the blade is perfect for smoothing surfaces. The shallow curve of the spoon knife translates to a smooth finish on the wood. This works well for everything from carving eating spoons to finishing carved bowls. 
 
The handle was finished with Peacock Oil, a unique blend of the world's finest traditional oils, resins and waxes that together produce a breathable, water-repellent, figure enhancing and grain strengthening finish.
