An easy postal sharpening service that will have your tools looking and feeling better than new! Available to customers aged 18+ only. This listing is for sloyd knives and hook knives only.
 
Sharpening process
Sloyd knives are hollow ground on a Tormek T-8, and hand finished to a flat-over-hollow, or flat ground on a Sorby ProEdge grinder, and hand finished. Hook knives are sharpened on either a Sorby ProEdge or a Tormek T-8, depending on what would give the best result for your tool, and hand finished. 
 
How to order
1) Decide on the type of sharpening service you require. For sloyd knives there is a choice between a hollow grind and a flat grind, which refers to the geometry of the bevel that will result. 
2) Measure your blades (in mm). Please see the infographic on how to do this. Select appropriate option.
3) Please select 'Yes' on the surcharge if you have a severely damaged blade. Examples include, but are not limited to: a severe chip, a broken tip, severe rusting etc. Please see first image for an example of a blade that would qualify as severely damaged. If you are unsure, please contact me for advice. 
 
How to post
Due to legislation on postage of blades, customers must be 18+ and your tools must be sent via Royal Mail's Tracked Age Verification service (please see my FAQs for more info on this policy). I will organise this for you to make this process as easy as possible. At checkout you will pay for postage both to and from my workshop, and after ordering you will receive an email with your postage label to print out for your package. 
 
Lead times
Guaranteed turnaround time of 2-3 weeks. If you need your blades back in a shorter amount of time please contact me and I will let you know if this is possible. If it is, I will write you a personal invoice with an extra £10 charge for a quicker turnaround.
